Armitis

Definition: Baby addicted to only sleeping in mommy's arms for naps.

Although Peanut has been sleeping relatively well in the night time, Peanut's daytime naps schedule have been all over the place. It's been extremely frustrating. We see that she's tired, but she won't sleep, or she won't sleep more. She won't sleep in her crib for her naps for longer than 10-25 minutes at a time (after being in mommy's arms for 20 minutes, making the nap total of 45 minutes). Then when she's awake, she's not really focused, just general malaise. I need to have my baby Peanut sleeping!

I finally looked up the Baby Whisperer's message boards in search for some help. I think I'm gonna have to resort to being somewhat of a schedule nazi. :( Peanut has been feeding about every 4 hours, which makes her perfect candidate to do the 4-hr E.A.S.Y. routine (Eat, Activity, Sleep, You/Mom). This means from when she opens her eyes to the next time she shuts them, should be about 2 hours, followed by a 2-hour nap. If she's waking up after 30 minutes, the activity/awake time is not long enough. If she's waking up after 45 minutes, then she's overtired. I'm gonna give this schedule a try. I really want Peanut to sleep well and play well when she's awake. Plus, I really would like Peanut to have some predictability before I go back to work.
