Words

Before I forget them all, I wanted to document the words that Peanut can say right now, at 15 1/2 months.

In Chinese:
媽媽 mommy
爸爸 daddy
麵麵 noodle
襪襪 socks
坐坐 sit
球球 ball
打打 her version of to open (打開)
蓋蓋 close
狗狗 dog
花花 flower
鳥鳥 bird
背背 to ride piggyback or to carry
"Ne-ne" milk in Taiwanese
怕怕 afraid (accompanied by patting chest)
拿拿 to hold, have, take
褲褲 pants
摸摸 touch
擦擦 wipe
帽帽 hat
搖搖搖 to rock (pronounced yao-yao-yao; but she says wah-wah-wah)
阿嬤 Grandma in Taiwanese
(others that she can say, but not on a consistent basis: 姑姑 paternal aunt, 哥哥 elder brother, 叔叔 paternal younger uncle)

In English:
No
Hi (accompanied by wild waves of the hand)
Bye-bye (accompanied by hand opening and closing)
Cracker
Bubble
'Nite-nite (accompanied by the good-bye wave)
Mmmmm
"Ti-ti" Her version of Tickle
"Gur-gur" Her version of Yogurt

Songs she knows and can start:
"Clean-Up" (she sings the beginning of the song when she is asked to put things away. She will now also sing the song when she knows she should be cleaning up or when she actually wants to put things away)
"Tick-tock" and "cuckoo" (part of "tick-tock, tick-tock, I'm a little cuckoo clock")
"走, 走"
"Bye-bye _____" (bye-bye song from Gymboree)
"Pop Pop Pop" (part of a song from Gymboree)

And of course she understands quite a bit more; and can express herself without uttering a comprehensible word quite well. For example, she loves being outside. She will point to the outside when we are close to the patio door or front door or mud room. She will take me to the door and motion for me to turn the knob. She will walk toward the door/garage. If I don't follow, she will physically take me and walk me toward the door/garage.
