Inching Forward

Peanut has been working very hard in trying to figure out crawling and sitting up by herself. Although she is not quite cruising the room crawling, she is now able to "slither" toward her intended object(s). In order to propel herself forward, sometimes she'll do the frog jump, or she'll just simply lounge her whole body forward.

Peanut is now also able to sit up by herself. It takes her quite a bit of effort to do so. But of course she mostly does it when we're not looking, i.e. in her crib when she's supposed to be sleeping. When we look at the monitor to see what she's up to, that's when we find out that she's sat herself up, playing with, pulling or swatting at the mobile. At first we would go into her room and put her back down. However, she would just sit up again. Plus, she seems to revel in the fact that she can now sit up and enjoys having an audience when she sees us, and becomes even more excited. That, my friends, is bad news when you're trying to get a baby to sleep. We now no longer go into her room when she sits up. She will eventually fall over when she's tired enough.
