Our Peanut is falling off the growth chart, except she's got a big head. Although her parents are not large people, we would have expected her to stay well within the pack. There's no other option, Operation Fatty is being deployed (not sure if she'll complyl tho). Apparently, she's just a busy baby who does not feel that eating should take priority. She loses interest quickly, as long as her tummy is no longer hungry. Oh, but when when middle-of-the-night-hunger pain strikes, yikes, we cannot move fast enough to go feed her, and she will let us know. Luckily, as soon as she downs her bottle (which she doesn't usually do with her daytime bottles), she will happily drift off to sleep, most of the time. What, she is still not sleeping through the night, you gasp? Head hangs in shame, no she is not. Because she probably doesn't get enough calories in the day, she needs her night bottle. Sigh. It's a good thing I'm not working. Otherwise, I don't know how I could function having interrupted nights, every night.
Other random updates:
- Tooth #4 is finally coming in, on top, in the front.
- Peanut can crawl REALLY FAST.
- Peanut can practically crawl/run up the stairs in no time; yet is terribly afraid of coming down.
- Peanut likes playing on the piano, while carrying the cloth that covers the keys. Multi-talented, she is!
- Peanut is afraid of the push lawn mower toy, yet will point to it and look for me to push and pull it back and forth, so she can see the little balls inside jump.
- Peanut likes baby food less and less. Mommy's and Daddy's food, yum! She will point to whatever she wants to eat, and you must serve it to her. It's even better if you serve it on chopsticks. Those little Gerber spoons are for wussies!
- Peanut can drink out of a cup. Not a sippy cup, just a regular cup. I'm not sure if this is good or not, since it's one more thing that has to be served to her, when she points to it.
- When Peanut gets tired of the food spread in front of her, she will point and look in the direction of the refrigerator, meaning, "I want my yogurt."
- Peanut will actively play Peek-a-boo by holding anything in front of her. She will then try to peak under it to see if you're looking for her. It's so cute!
- When we put Peanut in her carseat, even before she's strapped in, she lounges for her *clean* cloth diaper to sniff.
- On our way home from being out, Peanut always wants to take off her shoes, so she can play with them. Not sure if this is the beginning of a life-long love affair with shoes. (can this possibly be a gene that I passed to my daughter?)
- Peanut is learning to turn lights on and off. Actually, she just likes to push the switches.
- Peanut will now select books to look at from her book shelf. She's a total speed reader. She will flip through a book in less than a minute and will want another and another and another. Especially at bedtime.
- When Peanut is very unhappy to be put in her crib, she will throw her stuffed elephant, penguin and now blanket out of the crib, and say "uh-oh."
- Anytime anything is out of its place, or she's going to do something she's not supposed to, she will say "uh-oh."
- Peanut will babble "mamma" and "babba", but we're still not sure if she's actually calling us. Sometimes it seems like she is, but sometimes, she's just making sounds.
- Peanut LOVES piggyback rides. When she catches me on the floor, she'll get behind me and pat my shoulder to tell me to go! Sometimes she'll even point to where she wants to be carried to.
- Peanut is finding new ways to play with some of her older toys.
